Product information "Wire casting"
Reduced to the essentials, this wire casting follows a minimalist principle of the known Meuser mould to the end and leaves out all that is redundant.
Made for trainees and masters alike who only occasionally recycle their scraps themselves, but would like a sturdy and easy to use tool.
-The cover closes automatically by its own weight.
It therefore requires no bracket.
-The cover rests directly on the legs with its recesses.
It is therefore always in the right position.
-The sprue rests at an angle automatically so that the liquid metal can flow gently into the mould, rather than dropping into it.
This avoids trapping air bubbles.
-The ends of the sprues are round, facilitating rolling and minimising material loss.
-The two sprues for wire have the same diameter, but different lengths.
Large diameters are much easier to cast than thin ones.
-Opening the mould is simple and fast. The cast can therefore be quenched in water immediately,
whereby a finer grain structure is achieved.
-Of course, the sprue can be heated with a flame or in a furnace before casting.
Wire sprues: dia. 8mm, length 20mm-40mm
Made in Germany.
As with any coquille, Meuser coquilles may not be damp when used.
In particular, there may be no moisture in the sprues.
(For better results, the sprues can rubbed with an oily cloth before use
or sooted with a candle.)
To prevent corrosion, Meuser coquilles should also be rubbed with an oily rag after each use.
