Only available in GERMAN
Experience and observations from practice! By Richard Rothmann, founder of DUGENA
• For master watchmakers, apprentice watchmakers and watch enthusiasts
• Specialist book and reference works for lovers of mechanical watches
• A piece of contemporary history
• Contemporary training material for the watch industry
In this reprint from 1936, Richard Rothmann, one of the most influential German watchmakers at the beginning of the 20th century, competently and vividly explains all the technical and manual requirements placed on watchmakers of their time.
Advice and guidelines for daily work are presented and explained, from the design of the workplace to special repairs and the maintenance of watches.
A wonderful piece of contemporary history and, last but not least, a reference work and treasure trove for all friends and lovers of mechanical watches.
About Rothmann:
Under the leadership of Richard Rothmann, the members of "Union Horlogère" founded a German cooperative, the Alpina Deutsche Uhrmacher Genossenschaft e. G. m. B. H. (ADUG). DUGENA also writes that the Rothmann brothers were involved in founding ADUG together with Wilhelm Ulrich. Quality watches for the general population, as opposed to the exclusive products of Swiss provenance, were a priority. With this credo, the range was expanded as early as the 1920s and established model series such as "Festa" or "Tresor". Word quickly got around about the attractive price-performance ratio and found a broad clientele. In 1942, Alpina was finally renamed DUGENA (Deutsche Uhrmacher-Genossenschaft Alpina) in Berlin.
