Product information "Book: Contemporary Watch Repair and Watch Adjusting"
The most popular book ever written on the subject - long lost, now available again. The 1949 original was reconstructed despite its desolate condition.
The original author, Emile Bohrer, was Technical Director at Rolex, his article series on the faults of modern watches and how to identify and correct them would be a great success - thanks in particular to the exceptional knowledge of the author. The English-language book to the series translated Walter Flume into German in 1949, but only as a typewriter manuscript, it was never published. Only now has it been carefully reconstructed, corrected and improved.
Emile Borer, successful research and planning engineer of Rolex-Fabrk movements, set standards with his articles and provided excellent assistance with the repair of clocks.
The title is divided into 21 chapters, which detail, expertly and - thanks to the current translation - the anchor escapement, the barrel, the press-fit stones and pens, the water resistance and time scales, glass, spare parts and test equipment. is written intelligibly.
Emile Borer, Technical Director at Rolex: "Contemporary Watch Repair and Watch Correction", translated by Walter Flume. Checked for technical correctness by master watchmaker Fritz Gettke, reconstructed by Michael Stern. 173 pages, many illustrations.
