Product information "Book Wood and Silver Jewellery"
The turner and author, Helga Becker, and the goldsmith, Manuela Seiz, have been designing jewellery from wood and silver together for years - this book gives an insight into their work and, at the same time, presents ten projects to follow.
The step-by-step instructions provide an introduction to the basic techniques of wood and silver working. Objects in various levels of difficulty - finger rings, brooches, a bangle, necklaces, and earrings - are intended for both, beginners and advanced. The gallery section, showing numerous pieces of jewellery, particularly encourages you to develop additional jewellery objects of your own.
Press reviews:
""The magnificent illustrated book depicts the pioneering work of the wood turner, Helga Becker, and the goldsmith, Manuela Seiz: They have designed pieces of jewellery together and combine two materials that rarely meet in this high-end jeweller's quality.""
HolzWerken, Jan/Feb 2012
""The Haupt Verlag publishing house from Bern/Switzerland, which is a leader in the field of arts and crafts, presents another excellent book on jewellery making with this richly illustrated volume.""
Lehrerbibliothek.de, May 2011
""A practical book of jewellery making that is indispensable and timeless for this design field.""
Kultur-Punkt, March 2011
207 pages, approx. 400 colour photographs
hardcover, 23.5 x 26 cm
