Product information "Tyrolean bell 4cm"
Bell making has a very long tradition in Germany. For more than 200 years, the rare craft of the clamp locksmith's shop has been in Thuringia, near the Rennsteig (Wartburg). Right there, somewhat hidden in the romantic Ebersbach Valley, we have found a small production facility that has been producing good sound in original craftsmanship for more than 140 years and that produces real Tyrolean bells for us.
The original Tyrolean bells are composed of two half-shells, a gallows and a clapper. The production requires patience and skill, so that the bells get their unique appearance and do not form wrinkles in the end. For this reason, after the pre-embossing, a second embossing is still achieved today, for example with a slow-working, hydraulic drawing press. Only when all the individual parts are made by hand in their raw form from deep-drawn sheet metal, the composition takes place.
Then our original Tyrolean bells receive a special antique brass finish:
The bells are dipped in a graphite crucible with liquid brass at a temperature of 1100 degrees. After carefully pulling out, the still glowing bells are knocked against a hard object. This cuts off the unnecessary brass that has collected at the bottom of the bell. The bell is then cooled in a cold water bath. By cooling the bell gets a deliberately irregular surface structure. The bells are copper-plated for an additional five to ten minutes. The copper bath is necessary to make the dark sulfur liver stick to the brass. After coppering, they are briefly immersed in a bath with sulfur liver, which makes the bells dark. Finally, the bells are dried and scrubbed in a special dryer. This rubs off the dark sulfur liver at the raised areas on the surface and exposes the brass. It is only through this complicated process that the bells finally acquire their antique, unique appearance.
The bells made for us are each provided with ribbons / loops made of real leather. This natural leather with its own patina can be individually decorated and decorated with our branding stations (e.g. with the Brenn-Peter, reference 353637, or also with the firing flask) for individual design.
Dimension height: 4cm.
Also available in 6cm height with a darker sound: reference 353749
